Create Screenshots with SnagIt for Free

May 30th, 2009 by Rob Strobbe | Filed under News.

If you ever need to take screenshots of your desktop, now is a great time to get SnagIt for just that. Until June 5, 2009, TechSmith is giving away SnagIt 7.2.5 for free. Just follow that link to get your registration key. In addition, once that’s downloaded and registered, you can upgrade to the current version 9.1 for just $24.95. Note that 7.2.5 is not compatible with Vista.

The offer’s already been taken down once and re-posted, so you may want to hurry in case they get overwhelmed again.

Why not try LightScreen as an alternative? Free, and you can take full scree, active window, or selected area screenshots.

Set your own hot-keys, save as PNG or JPEG to a folder of your choice, and set an outline for your snapshot. Also, magnify the screen as you select an area to capture.

There is a ‘portable’ version available that will run from your pen drive.

    Find it on filehippo.com
